Hardwood is an excellent choice since it typically increases the value of your home, although it is not as widely used in Florida. You can choose different kinds of hardwood floor and even opt for bamboo and other exotic species, such as Australian cypress, Brazilian cherry or Teak. Bamboo typically regenerates faster than wood and is more environmentally-friendly. It looks as rich as wood and yet it typically contains no formaldehyde and PVC, which is good especially if you have any kind of respiratory issues.

Florida construction uses a lot of tile since it is cool and easy to care for. Tile comes in different colors, finishes, sizes, materials and textures. It looks good and provides a feeling of amplitude and is easy to care for and durable.

If you are on a budget you can always use laminate or vinyl. They now come in many different finishes that may be a good option for certain rooms of the home.

Carpet of different finishes, materials and thickness is a comfortable option for bedrooms and dens. Many Florida homes use carpet in these areas and lay tile on the rest of the house.
