Water Line Replacement
|
The water in Southwest Florida - South of Sarasota, mainly, is of such quality that it corrodes copper pipes. Many people are not aware of this and do not understand the importance of having their older plumbing checked before a pipe eventually bursts because of this corrosion. Sometimes you can taste the copper in the drinking water,
and this means that it is time to replace the pipes. You may also see debris in the water, or the pressure may be lower than usual or the water may take longer to heat (due to the lower pressure). These may all be signs of defective pipes that need to be replaced. In Florida, one of the best options for pipes is PVC.
Keep in mind that unless you have your plumbing inspected by a licensed and experienced
plumber, you may not realize that your pipes are old or corroded until there is a water leak or something worse.
Repiping is a big job that takes several days, but you may stay in your home while we do the work. We have over 25 years of experience doing this kind of job and we are state licensed and insured. You can rest assured that we will recommend the best pipes for your home and we will give
you an estimate and time-frame to do it in. We will have to disconnect the water supply when disconnecting and reconnecting pipes, but we will tell you what to expect beforehand. If you are away for the summer, then that may be the best time for you to have this kind of work done.
If your second home is in Florida, then keep in mind that the recommendations you receive for your piping up north may
vary from those you get for your piping here. That is because the materials used for cold weather are different from those best suited for warm and humid weather. Also, the type of water is not the same, and that is also something to take into consideration when repiping and replacing plumbing. |
