I remember growing up my grandmother's house had a swinging door from the dining room to the kitchen. In the older homes the kitchens always seemed to be placed out of the way.

The options that are available to create your perfect kitchen are all out there. From spice rack drawers to hidden pantry pullouts that look like decorative moldings. A new kitchen construction can inspire home reorganization. Lighting alone can turn a regular kitchen into a dramatic or a cozy space. You can add an island or create a beverage center; clients have even added a countertop for pet feeding and storage supplies. You can also go the more dramatic route of adding space to the kitchen and improving the traffic flow. Some projects have flipped around the rooms in the house to allow the kitchen to have the all the elements that the homeowner wants.
