Energy Conservation

Bill Burke, one of the co-owners of our business is an energy rater. This means he can study your house plans and make sure the home is as energy-efficient as possible and make the necessary adjustments if it is not. This translates into energy conservation for you and for the environment.
Energy conservation-building or high-performance
building is also known as green building. This is the practice of creating and using healthier and more resource-efficient models of construction, renovation, operation, maintenance and demolition.
There are several ways in which you can conserve energy during construction or remodeling of your home:
- Reducing the energy output of your home and using renewable energy
- Reducing the amount of water usage and protecting water resources
- Making sure your home is built on an environmentally friendly site
- Choosing eco-friendly home building materials and cleaning products
- Minimizing waste in the home and recycling
- Minimizing the impact on your health by using eco-friendly products, to include certain types of paint, carpet and even cabinetry
The CGP (Certified Green Professional) certification, which we hold, allows us to use environmentally and health-friendly products and methods that conserve energy. Some of this is achieved by increasing insulation, installing insulated windows and and high-efficiency heating, cooling and water heating equipment. Over time, energy conservation can save you money and help protect the environment. |
